Back again!

Continuing the creation of AllisonWonderland'z saga..

Back  again!

It seems the combination of Bi-Polar & Agoraphobia
(along with my association of Panic &/or Anxiety Attacks) is just too much.

Thank goodness I am retired, for I do not see how people working could manage a job & if there was a family to support, I just don't see how anyone could also manage it.

So, a blessing that I am retired & owe very little in my life now.

However, it seems so very difficult to manage to go on.
I only get out (past my locked gate) once a month to my trustee Psychologist & manage this by driving myself.
I no longer can get in a car with someone else driving,
& the latest has been I cannot turn right in a car - quite hopeless, I admit.

BETTER  NEWS:

My home craft of crocheting & sometimes sewing, really helps keep me going.  It's the combination of beautiful & colourful yarns & fabrics with my interpretation of what I make, that keeps me going.
I was so fortunate this month, to receive a huge carton of gorgeous wool & yarns from a friend who had a selection of coloured yarns, left from her late, adult daughter.  Unfortunately she had passed away & left so much craft work, but most fortunately for me, I have been able to put the yarns etc. to good use.
I have found 2 active charities that badly need beanies & small clothes for their babies.
I was asked to make beanies for tiny premature babies,
so have easily crocheted over 200 (so far).

I think being creative, - whether one makes handiwork, writes, invents, cooks or is a artist or is busy out in the garden is wonderful for us.
Colour, being creative,
is surely beneficial for our minds.
Good luck for finding your own creative hobby!

Hi followers!

Glad to say, I'm back on track, renamed my book, rewriting chapters & submitting to a Publisher.

Nothing like renewed enthusiasm & fresh thoughts
to open up my pages & original ideas again.

Will keep you informed of my progress!

~ Hello followers ~
Recently, following the flood & bushfire devastation through much of Australia, I busied myself sorting out our bedroom & bathrooms (for a start!) & bagged up clothing basics & bathroom essentials for the Evacuations Centres.   Also sorted through my many books, some remaining unread, but thought those folk who evacuated, then lost their homes during the disasters haven't anything, except what they left with on the day (or night).  So many books & magazines went out in 6 boxes.  (I've only missed 1 book so far, that's all).  A small price to pay, isn't it?
Oh, also gave my Grandchildren's small toys, activity books & picture books for the children in Centres.  My Grandchildren have grown past these anyway.
So, having been rather occupied lately, should find time to now continue this BLOG for you.
Stay safe wherever you are!

January has seen 2013 in, holidays, family moving & devastating Queensland & NSW, getting over Cyclone Oswald!

So, HAPPY NEW YEAR 2013 to you all!

We enjoyed continuous holidays early January with my son and his family moving from big rented house into a smaller house in Ipswich - no swimming pool this time around,
but kids will find they can do without for a while.

Settled down & then 'Cyclone Oswald' hit Queensland starting from the Cape tip in
Far North Queensland & tracking down the East Coast to gradually let us know her fury although downgraded by time it hit us on Gold Coast.
Eventually continued tracking right down to Sydney bringing gale force winds & torrential rain wherever it went.
Because we weren't part of the inland rivers streaming down to other parts of the coast, including several cities, we didn't experience the devastating floods that they did.
We thought the winds & rain were enough & fortunate we didn't lose power like so many thousands of homes & businesses did.
The clean up is enormous with Army & Air Forces taking part.
Several people have lost their lives, perhaps with more to be found yet.
So we can count ourselves fortunate as our Lake level only came up onto the grass
with minimal other damage.

Makes you appreciate what you have & it is absolutely gorgeous to see the Gold Coast sun beaming down on us and we have a beach out the front again!

I'll keep posting more regularly this year -
I see where 100's of people look at this BLOG with 924 hits,
so I'll attempt to give you something interesting to read.

Thanks for following!
Allison

Back to feeling good again!

Having experienced several weeks of feeling unwell, I am now back to joyful blogging
& doing lots of reading, mainly outside on our sunny terrace, overlooking the lake ~
how good is this?   My physcologist also noticed how well I was our past 2 appointments.

I have also made a major discovery when I watched a Jane Campion NZ film
"AN ANGEL AT MY TABLE"  written by NZ author, Janet Frame
who came from Southland like me, lived in Auckland for a time writing like me,
& had mental illness like me,
(although it has been debated since whether she actually had  mental illness).
She was unfortunately treated 200 times with shock treatment in NZ
& admitted also in England, but kept on writing!  Incredible!
She also won every eligible literary prize in NZ, civil honours
& honorary doctorates &  medals.  Also incredible!

I was keen to read her book, so had a copy sent from England.
Strange that I should be sitting in Australia, ordering a book from England,
that was written in NZ!
How I did not learn of Janet Frame years before when I was living in NZ
completely escapes me!   I thoroughly enjoyed the read & am off to our local Library to get copies of Janet's various other books that I hadn't realised she had also written, including poetry & a children's book (about 20 books in all).
It is rather strange we weren't made to read some of them at school.  I certainly cannot remember being introduced to any.
(Janet lived from 1924 to 2004).
Would love to have corresponded with her, but tonight I've been pleased to find a BLOG (by her neice, I think) so have become a Follower.
