Busy weekend, now a busy week

Following the busy weekend of RAAF formation fly~pasts & the Gold Coast 600 car racing, we have had our Queen & Duke arrive into Brisbane, sail up the Brisbane River & travel past many places where January's unfortunate flood levels rose extremely high with such devastation.  Weather was beautiful & 10,000 approx 'royal subjects' lined the river & pathways where loads of excited children presented the Queen with many bunches of flowers & some of their paintings.  Lovely to see.
Over the weekend I sewed so much, that I shorted~out my sewing machine, so into the repairer.  Last month I shorted~out our toaster ~ must be a lot of internal energy happening!!
Also received 2 parcels of personally ordered goods for Christmas & Overseas ~ oh, it certainly pays to shop early, doesn't it?

20 Hornets & Racing Cars weekend

Today has been the amazing start of a big Gold Coast weekend for us.   16 Super Hornets flew past to join 4 final new Hornets out at sea, then all put on a patterned show over South East Queensland & returned to their new home at Amberley Air Force Base.  They now replace the old F1-11's who used to perform their dump & burn show.
Then, we have 3 days of car racing on our Surfers' Paradise Streets.  V8's mainly will put on a show & substitute drivers have arrived from USA to replace their mate who died in Las Vegas's car crash last week.
Both displays are noisy ~ but Gold Coast residents get used to it!   Off to the beach ~ lets go do it!!
